Malvan chi Kolambi amti video recipeĀ
The amti is basically referred to as a curry in Maharastrian. This can be a normal onion based curry with spices and of course loads and loads of chillies or can also be dal-based, as in a dal curry with lentil as the base and made like a curry; not just boiled dal with tempering added.
And here’s the video recipe of the Kolambi amti by Mrs. Sheela Nadkarni, whose a homemaker in Pune and also runs a ready-to-cook snack delivery service called Xpress Pait Pooja in Pune. She’s developed these wonderful little packets of joy which’re ready to cook. Stuff like Upma, Sabudana khichadi, Masale bhaat, Thalipeeth, Ven pongal; in which you just need to add water and cook. Its fabulous stuff. Any day better and healthier than a packet of maggi.

Dear Sh. Singh,
“Konkani Food” is something which has inherent quality to salivate the mouth of any ‘food frek’. & Kolambi Curry is sure one of them..!!
Nonetheless, I’d prefer to suggest you that a sheaf of papers have been written by the columnist about “Konkani Food” but one thing is missing i.e.. Konkani snacks & sweets which I think are gone unnoticed.
Any article & food joints discovered by you for the same will more than a pleasant discovery….!!
Thanks & Regards,
Sharma U,
Shillong..
Dear Umashankar. Didn’t quite fully understand your comment. Can you send us a link to the Konkani food articles that you’re mentioning, in case they’re on the net.
Dear Sh. Singh,
I regret to write that these articles are not on the net, for instance, many often Konkani food articles have been written by famous food critic “Vikram Doctor” in ‘The Economic Tiems” & many more by others too…!!
Any disciplined & chronologically organized collection, though , may not be available for ready reference, since they are scattered over a vast stretch of time.
Regards,
Sharma U,
Shillong.
Thank you Umashankar. Will be on the lookout for Vikram Doctor’s articles on Konkani food.
